Seoul Design Foundation Workshop Report

While working at Designing Out Crime research centre, some of my colleagues went to Korea to host a workshop to share design thinking process with Seoul Design Foundation.
I was challenged to design a bilingual report. I call it a 'challenge' because: one, I had to translate English into Korean myself; and two, despite the different shape and form of the languages, I wanted to present these alongside each other harmoniously.
(I'm a native Korean speaker but translating a formal document was more difficult than what I thought.)
I've explored two very vast sets of friendly typefaces of Korean and English and chose ones that look similar on their strokes.
Since Korean words are written taller and blockier than English, I've chosen a typeface and tweaked it to be slightly shorter in height, narrower in width and gave more spacing.
I have also carefully chosen and laid out many lively photographs to best deliver the mood and flow of the workshop held overseas.
The project is quite different from what I used to do or what I do now. However, that uniqueness is what it makes it one of the most fun projects I've ever worked on.
